Hamé increased their year-to-year sales for the period from January to June by 15%. For the first six months of the year, the sales amounted to CZK 2.120 billion. Meat products represent 55%, vegetable products and tomato purée products represent 22%, and sweet products, i.e. jams, tinned fruit, fruit fillings, and baby food, represent 23% of the sales of Hamé.
A new event significantly influencing this year's sales in the Czech Republic is the last year's successful entry into two companies producing sandwiches and baguettes (Made and Bapa). As compared to the last year, the sales of sandwich and baguette products offered in the Czech market under the premium brand name of Hamé life style and brand name of Bapa increased by 65%.
Apart from the successful operations in the Czech and Slovak markets, this year's sales growth is especially related to the successful development of activities in the foreign markets. The sales of Hamé increased most considerably in Ukraine where the year-to-year increase amounted to 70%, which brought about the enlargement of the business team in 2006 and the import of products from our own production plant in Vladimir, Russian Federation.
Hamé increased their sales considerably also in the Russian Federation, namely by 38% as compared to the same period of the last year. In the Russian Federation, Hamé offer a wide range of products, including patés, meat tins, ketchups, jams, sterilised vegetable products, and baby food. In the Russian market, Hamé have been operating since the mid-nineties. In 2004, the company opened its own production plant in Vladimir from which it supplies its products also outside the Russian
Federation, namely Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan or Georgia. In September this year, Hamé are going to participate in one of the largest food industry trade fairs in the Russian-speaking countries, Worldfood trade fair, where Hamé are given numerous awards for their products every year.
This year, Hamé opened in Romania their production plant after its extensive reconstruction. In the last year, the company invested EUR 8 million in the production plant situated on the south of Romania, and this investment project has enabled Hamé to triple the previous production capacities. For the first half of this year, Hamé Romania increased their sales by 18%. At present, Hamé negotiate in Romania 2 possible acquisitions which are supposed to be completed by the end of the year.
Through those acquisitions, Hamé want to increase their position in the local market.
In the first half of this year, Hamé also successfully developed the business activities of its subsidiary company Hamé Hungaria selling products in the Hungarian market. The year-to-year increase in sales amounts to 33%.
Another country where Hamé operate their business and export their products is Bulgaria where the company offers patés, meat products, as well as baby food. In addition to the above-mentioned foreign territories, Hamé supply their wide range of products to more than 30 countries (36 in total), including without limitation Poland, Austria, Croatia, Israeli, as well as Cuba, Libya, USA or Japan.
According to the plan for this year, Hamé want to achieve sales in the amount of CZK 4.9 billion.
